Birthday Celebration

Friday night we had our families over to celebrate my birthday. It was a perfect evening of eating, laughter, and being mellow.. just what I wanted. To my surprise, my best friend Jenny (who told me she was going to be in New Orleans that whole weekend) showed up to our house, which was a GREAT surprise. I was so pleased that she moved her flight to Saturday.. I'm so lucky to have such a thoughtful best friend. Not only was it great to see her at my door, but she also had a cake from our favorite cake lady! Double surprise! These cakes are seriously the best I've ever had...mmmm.

Our nephew, Cooper even joined us for the celebration, which was fantastic. I just think he is nothing short of adorable! He's at such a fun stage right now...running, talking, playing, etc. When he says my name.. my heart just melts. He's such a cutie. We were lucky enough to have him test out our baby boy's crib. It's good to know that the crib can withhold jumping and bouncing. haha.

What a wonderful birthday it was! Thanks to both our families for making it so special and fun.
Here is a picture of me that night.. 5.5 months pregnant! I have officially popped!

Big Brown

Today was one of those days you never thought would come. We had to put down Newman, the big brown hound. He suffered from lymphoma cancer and fought a great battle. We will miss him everyday. You never think the day will come when you have to walk your dog into the vet for the last time. He was so gentle, kind, and lovable. He never hurt a fly expect if the fly tried to get in the way of his food, then the fly was in deep trouble. I will never forget Newmy and those big brown eyes and that wonderful bear nose. I have the pleasure of sharing my birthday with this wonderful hound and will remember him on the 25th of April every year. We decided to keep his ashes and place them around the tree we got as a wedding present from a dear family friend. The tree is blooming and beautiful, plus Newmy's favorite place was outside scouting for lions. We love you buddy, RIP sweet boy. You'll be greatly missed.

Taco!

My boxer, Tatum is the funniest dog I've ever seen. She is obsessed with squeaky toys, the pooper scooper (don't ask..haha), chasing the vacuum, Harvey (our other dog), and of course Brian. Among her many funny ways, the best part about Tatum are her ears! When I was picking out Tatum 4 years ago, I chose her because of her ears. I love my cute little hound! Here's an example of what Tatum's ears do... they have a mind of their own. Haha.

I'm so thankful to have her! She makes me smile on a daily basis and brings such joy to my life! By the way, the only way we got her to hold still and look at the camera is by holding her favorite squeaky toy... typical pup!

A Nice Surprise

This last week I've been able to feel our little boy kick, which was so fun. On Saturday and Sunday he really went to town on my belly. Apparently he was in a good mood. It's been so fun to feel him move around in there!

We had another sono today! Our ultrasound tech was in a great mood, so she showed us the little guy in 3D. It was so awesome, it even made me tear up a little. We weren't expecting to see him in 3D until June, so it was a nice surprise to get a quick look. I'm so glad Bri was there with me to see him in 3D. His hands always seem to be by this face whenever we see him on a sono. So of course, Bri chimes in and says " Hey, maybe he'll be a MMA fighter!" And well, you can guess what my response was.. haha!

Sleeping has become a chore these days and I'm only assuming it's going to get worse. Between growing pains, back pains, hip pain, peeing every hour, and the dogs snooring.. I'm not getting much sleep at night. haha. However, I'm still enjoying every minute of this experience.

Finally...

After a couple of sono's later, our boy finally decided to cooperate and we got a profile picture of him. Hopefully his stubborn ways will resolve before he gets into our arms. But I have a feeling with Brian being his dad, we've got a good chance of him being ornery. Haha! To our surprise, he's not sporting the Abbott nose yet. That gene is strong like bull!!

Here's another picture of his cute little feet! They are crossed, so you can see the other heel in the picture too! He looks like he's gonna have Abbott toes..

Bump Check

I've slacked off from putting up weekly pregnancy pics of myself, but here is one of me at 19 weeks. He's growing which means I'm also growing outward. Haha.
