Cravings

So at the beginning of my pregnancy all I wanted was pickles. I know, very stereotypical for a pregnancy, but it just sounded so good! I couldn't get enough of them. These days, I'm craving an oldie, but goodie.... tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich. Maybe because it's been chilly outside and something warm sounds really good, I'm not sure. I guess that's why they are called cravings.

Mama's got a new ride!

After 3 long months of my KIA being in Junction City and having a rental car that barely drives, I finally have a new car! I absolutely love it! It's a 2010 Nissan Armada. I know it looks big, but we wanted a car that we could throw 3 dogs, a baby and head to Manhappy. Driving only 1 car to Manhattan sure makes things a lot easier and saves gas! When I'm driving the Nissan it really doesn't feel that big, apparently I was ready for the upgrade. Love it!

Hello 2nd Trimester!!

I finally know why everyone says that the 2nd trimester is the best! I have felt so good lately, no more nausea! For some women, they wake up one morning and feel fantastic. For me, it just gradually got better, but I still get tired easily. But I guess that's expected when you're growing a little one inside.

I finally feel like I'm starting to look preggers rather than looking like I had too much for lunch! Haha. Bri and I have started working on names and we have a pretty good idea what we are going to name this little bambino. However, I'm sure more names will be added to the list with time. It's been so fun to start looking at nursery ideas and thinking about registering. Speaking of creating a baby registry.... HOLY HELL! I had no idea that you needed so many different things for a baby. There's so many different options for everything you need, it's rather overwhelming! Thankfully, my wonderful sister in law (Katie) said she would come to my resuce and go with us when we register since she's been down that road recently. Thank God! haha.

Our next ultrasound appt is the 23rd of March and I can't wait to see how big the baby has gotten! Hopefully I will have good ultrasound pics to share. So far, this has been the most amazing experience in my life. I love reading about how big the baby is and hearing the fast little heartbeat every morning. 1 trimester down, 2 to go!

A Night Out

I've been feeling a lot better lately, which is such a relief. My nausea has seemed to slowly disappear! YAY! So, I thought a great way to celebrate is going to a concert, but not any concert.... the Rascal Flatts concert! They are my favorite band and put on such a great show! Since Bri is not a fan of country, Melissa joined me for a girls night out. We had a blast! I believe everyone should go see a Rascal Flatts concert at one point in their life because they are so entertaining!

The Sweetest Sound

Yesterday, Bri and I had an ultrasound and doctor's appointment. It was so much fun to see our little bambino moving around. Brian hadn't seen the baby in an ultrasound for a long time, so it was fun to see him so giddy and excited about it. It's amazing how fast the baby is growing, I couldn't believe it! It was a great way to spend our morning.

After the ultrasound, we met with my doctor. She decided to take me off pelvic rest, which I was thrilled about! Now, I can go back to exercising and having a life again! Haha. We got a great report, and she was pleased with how the baby is progressing.

I decided to record the baby's heartbeat this morning. It starts off pretty quiet and then gets louder, must be because of all the moving and jumping around the baby's doing. I apologize for the static at the beginning, the Doppler seems to be very sensitive! I will try and post some ultrasound pictures later. Enjoy!!

We've got some BIG news...

Well... We've got some BIG news to share. I'm so happy and excited to say that we are expecting our first child August 30th! What a perfect due date, it's the day after Katie's birthday and 7 days past our 2 year anniversary. Brian and I are so thrilled to be expecting this new addition to our family.

We found out 2 days before Christmas, which was the perfect gift for each other and our families. When I took the home pregnancy test, I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought surely this couldn't be right, but we went to the doctor and sure enough, it was the real deal. We were beyond excited and shocked all at the same time. We decided to order this ornament and give it to our parents as part of their Christmas. I thought it was the perfect way to share the exciting news.

The last 12 weeks have been interesting to say the least. I never knew that "morning" sickness could last morning, noon, and night. Sure I've heard of people experiencing nausea before, but this was a whole different level of nausea. From the moment I found out I was pregnant I've been constantly sick. It didn't matter how often I ate or how much anti nausea medicine I took, it was very clear that the nausea wasn't going anywhere. Now, I know that being so sick is a good sign because it means the baby is growing strong, but geesh mama needed a break every now and then. Over the weekend, I've felt pretty decent, so I'm hoping that the day I wake up and feel great is VERY near! Bri has been such a great hubby during this stage, he's so supportive and helpful. I would have never gotten through it without him!!! Even though I've been horribly sick, it's well worth it and I know at some point it will disappear.

Bri and I can't describe how excited and happy we are! It's such an amazing feeling knowing that there's something so precious growing in my belly. These first 3 months have been so incredible, I can't wait to see what the next 6 months brings. I will keep everyone updated! Here is an ultrasound at 11 weeks. I love it because you can see the baby smiling.....

Update!

My apologizes for not keeping up with the blog. It seems that Bri and I have been so busy lately with work, families, friends, and gearing up for Christmas. I can't believe that Christmas is on Friday! This year has flown by! Bri and I are looking forward to a long weekend in Manhappy with friends and family. My sister is FINALLY moving home which I'm thrilled about. I will love having her so close and seeing her more often. I love that both of our families live in Manhattan, it makes the holidays so much easier.

Since the last time I blogged, I've got a new job. It's very time consuming, but totally worth it. I work at National American University and love every second of it. Who knew that I would go from the dental world to the education world. I commute to Kansas City everyday, which I thought would get old, but I actually don't mind it all. It gives me time to wind down from the work day and have some time for myself.

I'm sure I will have pictures to post after the long weekend in Manhappy! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas with their families and friends!! Happy Holidays!
