I saw my doctor today and she gave me some good news... I'm dilated! Yay! I've been having strong contractions since Monday and it's nice to know I'm getting results from them. They are definitely not the most comfortable things!! After checking me, she's confident that I will have this baby before my induction date. That was nice to hear, but I'm getting my hopes up. I'm just going to take it one day at a time. The good news is that there is an end in sight... 3 weeks and counting!!
Bri and I decided on a name for our boy a long time ago and we've been telling family. So with 3 weeks left to go (at most), I think it's time to share that with you! His name shall be....
Beckham Brooks Abbott
No, we are not die hard David Beckham fans or soccer fans, but we love the name Beck. As for Brooks, that is my sister's middle name. She's been such a big part of my life and been there for me, that I thought it was fitting to incorporate her somehow. I think that it's a very strong name and I'm sure it will suit him!! There is going to be another BA in the world...everyone better watch out! haha.
Since we've been telling family, he already has a couple nicknames.... We call him Becks and Katie (my sister in law) calls him Hammie. I love it! haha! I'm sure he'll pick up many more as time passes.

Let's Catch Ya Up...
Sooo much has happened since my last post... Where to begin?
Well... My sister had her baby! Indie Lea Voos came into the world and she is so precious! Absolutely perfect and beautiful. I can't wait to watch her grow and experience life. I've got lots of pictures with the AMAZING new camera GT and Ruth got us, but have yet to upload the pics. I will do that asap! The reason I have yet to upload the pics is because our house got struck by lighting the weekend Indie came into the world. So the lighting fried EVERYTHING in our house....It's been kinda crazy around here lately trying to fix everything and replace it. I finally got my computer back today and it made me realize how much I missed it!!
On a sad note, Brian's grandmother, Gran Gran passed since my last post. We just had her funeral last weekend. It was the most amazing funeral I've been to. Not only did everyone mourn her death, but it was more of a celebration. I don't think I've cried and laughed so much at a funeral. Brian's family is so amazing..honestly! Everyone came together to celebrate her life and I learned so many things about her that I didn't know. I realized that she is the reason why that family is so talented, caring, loving, and rare. She was one amazing lady and was loved by MANY people. We miss her soo much and know she'll be watching over all of us. We love you Gran Gran!
On a happier note, my doctor set my induce date! YAY! The date is August 22, 2010. Which means he will probably be born on August 23rd, which is our 2 year wedding anniversary! What a perfect gift! It's crazy to think that we will meet our baby boy in 4 weeks at the most! I can't wait to see what he looks like and hold him in my arms.
That's all for now... sorry for long post, but there was so much to catch up on!

Baby Bump Update
I had my regular OB appt on Tuesday with a sono. It was so fun to watch our little guy move around and see how big he's gotten! I can't believe in 8 short weeks he will finally be here. I sure hope those 8 weeks are more like 6 though..haha! My doctor told me she wasn't going to let me go past my due date, so we will meet our little guy in 8 weeks at most! Our boy is 4 lbs already! I can't believe it. His head is measuring in the 97th percentile and 3 weeks ahead of schedule...can we say melon head and ouch!? But I like what Katie (my sister in law) says about it... more room for brains! Cooper (her son) was also born with a huge head but has grown into it perfectly! Who I think is rather smart and with it for being 2 yrs old! I like to think it's because of that big head (literally) he was born with and I'm hopeful our little guy follows in his cousin's footsteps! :)
I have finally hit the "nesting" stage. Bri likes to poke fun at me, but I rather enjoy it. I've washed all of this clothes and bedding and organized his room to have some sort of order to it. After 2 showers, his room was a disaster..filled with lots of wonderful gifts from friends and family.
We had our 3d sono about 3 weeks ago and got some pretty good shots of our boy! I'll post a few of the good ones a bit later.
I apologize for the lack of blogging but the month of June has been absolutely CRAZY for us! We've had something going on every weekend. Although it was nice because it made the month go by fast. Hopefully July will go by just as fast!

Baby Shower in Lawrence
Jenny threw me the most beautiful shower last night! I'm so thankful to have such an amazing friend. I got so many great gifts for our little guy! Not only did I receive baby clothes, but I also got some great gear as well. To my surprise, Jenny had everyone send in a picture of their kiddos with motherly advice or send in a picture of me with a memory. I was completely shocked and cried reading through it. I will forever cherish that book and can't wait to show our boy when he get's older..jpg)
Once again, our amazing cake lady came through and made the cutest cake I'd ever seen! I don't how she does it, but she shocks me with her talent every time I see one of her cakes.
Jenny had the cutest decorations for the shower. I loved the vintage trucks with flower arrangements in the back of them along with bath salt in little containers for people to take home. She just thinks of everything!
I was so pleased that my sister made it to Lawrence for the shower considering she's due in 3 weeks! I love being able to go through our pregnancies together! It's been such a special bond/experience for us. I can't wait to watch our little ones grow up together!
Thanks again to everyone for all the great gifts and helping celebrate our little guy! I already know he's going to love having such amazing women in his life.

Date Night
Last Friday, Brian and I grabbed some dinner and then decided to go play putt putt in Kansas City. It was so much fun. We love playing golf together but this is the next best thing since I've got a big belly in the way and can't swing a golf club. He gave me a stroke on every hole since he plays 3 times a week and I haven't for the past 7 1/2 months. I thought it was only fair! haha. Even though I hadn't played in forever I still managed to get a hole in one on a Par 4... I consider that to be a Christmas miracle! The look on Brian's face was priceless! I swear his jaw dropped to the ground. In the end I kicked his booty and now he owes me a hand and foot massage... even better! haha. I love date nights with the hubby, we always seem to have a good time..jpg)
